Rendered in Daz Studio and postworked in Photoshop.

I just can't believe
what they've done to me.
We could never get free"

Hi it is I, wanted to ask about this awesome piece... The background smoky look, was it post work or done in Daz? It is amazing.

There are 2 things I did to achieve the mist and smoke effect.
First I used Moodmaster2 (Daz Studio 3 plugin) for mist effects.
Afterwards I added some extra smoke in postwork.

I was wondering if the Reality's Fog will be able to reproduce this effect?
After I saw your works, I had to get my hand on Reality 2.2, but it takes quite a bit getting what I want out of it. Yeah I am looking around and learning as I go along. Thanks for the insight.

I've tried different kinds of fog creating tools and the big problem is always the very long rendertimes. Since Reality is all about the raytracing, I suspect this will also be the case there (altough I have never tried it). I don't render anything that takes longer than 1 hour, so most of the time I prefer adding things in postwork, rather then having to wait for it to render.

Yes render times kill me too. I have tried to play around fog and yes it does take more time, but I am still unwieldy at the moment... [link] as you can see, I used only a mesh light and no visible fog showed up, just created more darkness, and made the figure a bit hazy. I should have played with more lights... or angles, but that will also take up render time. I realised too that Supersuit does not translate well in Reality 2.2

The trick is also to do some testrenders before starting the real render. You can do quick testrenders by switching off some lights or the hair or stuff like that. When I do a render, typically I will do like 50 - 100 testrenders before. Actually I'm doing testrenders all the time whilst setting up the scene.

PS: If speedy renders are what you are after, I would forget about Reality.

Thanks for the advise my friend. I will try to learn more by test rendering simpler models before the final. Sometimes I am a bit impatient I guess.
