This one is for ::iconmestophales::
You can buy his awesome 3D-stuff over at Daz3d.

Rendered in Daz Studio and postworked in Photoshop.

Was it daz studio or photoshop (newbie)

If I remember correctly the glowing eyes are already present in Daz, but I enhanced it in Photoshop...

Considering the angle of her gaze, if I'm the one pulling myself out of the rubble...
"I really hope you're on my side..."

Love this pic!

What are these armors called? They look sweet, and I see that Mestophales created them he and Xurge rule when it comes to armor.

If you like the fog effects and you work with Daz Studio you just have to check out Mood Master: [link]
Awesome fog effects without the skyhigh rendertimes from other fog tools.

Many thanks for the link. I'm still new to DAZ and contemplating carefully how use my limited resources. There really is so much great stuff available. I look forward to experimenting with content creation myself.

Here's a tip:
enter your best images to the Daz Monthly galleries: [link]
If you get selected, you get a $25 voucher.

But beware: If you submit them, Daz can use your images without asking and free of charge. So don't be surprised if you suddenly see your images appearing in a newsletter or a banner...

Ah, yes I noticed the contest. I might give them a go once I'm producing some better work. I'm still just learning the basics of the tools.

Many thanks! Here is a link to a render from my second scene construction if you would like to take a look - [link] Any comments, criticism etc would be more than welcome. I have a thick skin from years of writing, so feel free to take the blunt approach.

OK, I'm switching to 'totally honest' mode ;-) :

- the light is a bit one-dimensional. You only see red and you only see one set of shadows. This gives a bit of a 'flat' result. Try adding more lights (check this tutorial: [link])

- There is a problem with the contrast. I mean the contrast between the main subject (the man) and the background. He nearly totally disappears in it. You can see this if you take a step back from the monitor and squint your eyes. The only things that stick out are the panel and the mans back. The mans face nearly totally disappears.

- also I think that the subject of the render isn't very interesting... It's just a man bend over a panel. I understand that it's a statement against alle the images with scantily clad babes with big guns, but that doesn't mean that something interesting isn't allowed to be happening.

So there you go... my honest opinion. Feel free to reply totally honest...

To be honest, Mass Effect wasn't an inspiration for this one.
Inspirations were:
- Andree Wallin [link] for the fog and lighting effects
- Heavenly Sword [link] for the strong female character

That's a great poster/dvd cover. The rendering style spins me out a little, the armour shading looks kind of Appleseed, the face is your usual "look I'm almost a photograph!" style. I'm not sure if it's just the material that's being used, I'm going to hazard a guess seeing as my eyes are getting sore leaning this close to the screen and squinting at it :) Girl's eyes came out awesome and I really like how the top of her hair is messy, adds a bit of realism (and impression of air being moved by giant flying object with bright spotlight).

Hee hee red light eyes, those two in the back there look formidable :D

Thanks for the in-depth comment, Ryivhnn.
I'll send you my 3000x4500px resolution version, then you don't have to squint your eyes so much ;-)

PS: had to look up Appleseed...

I only have a res of 1280x800 this thing :D Sorry about not explaining Appleseed, I usually assume everyone knows at least as much but probably more than I do and provide more information if I get asked :)
