Many thanks for the link. I'm still new to DAZ and contemplating carefully how use my limited resources. There really is so much great stuff available. I look forward to experimenting with content creation myself.
Many thanks! Here is a link to a render from my second scene construction if you would like to take a look - [link] Any comments, criticism etc would be more than welcome. I have a thick skin from years of writing, so feel free to take the blunt approach.
- the light is a bit one-dimensional. You only see red and you only see one set of shadows. This gives a bit of a 'flat' result. Try adding more lights (check this tutorial: [link])
- There is a problem with the contrast. I mean the contrast between the main subject (the man) and the background. He nearly totally disappears in it. You can see this if you take a step back from the monitor and squint your eyes. The only things that stick out are the panel and the mans back. The mans face nearly totally disappears.
- also I think that the subject of the render isn't very interesting... It's just a man bend over a panel. I understand that it's a statement against alle the images with scantily clad babes with big guns, but that doesn't mean that something interesting isn't allowed to be happening.
So there you go... my honest opinion. Feel free to reply totally honest...
That's a great poster/dvd cover. The rendering style spins me out a little, the armour shading looks kind of Appleseed, the face is your usual "look I'm almost a photograph!" style. I'm not sure if it's just the material that's being used, I'm going to hazard a guess seeing as my eyes are getting sore leaning this close to the screen and squinting at it Girl's eyes came out awesome and I really like how the top of her hair is messy, adds a bit of realism (and impression of air being moved by giant flying object with bright spotlight).
Hee hee red light eyes, those two in the back there look formidable
